Psychotherapy
While I work with adults of all ages and genders who are facing a range of problems, much of my practice is focused on treating men in their 20's and 30's who are struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and discomfort and uncertainty regarding identity and values. I also specialize in treating patients experiencing psychotic symptoms as well as family members of people suffering from serious mental illness. I take a collaborative, flexible, and goal-oriented approach to psychotherapy, tailoring treatment to the particular needs of each patient.

I typically meet with individuals for 45-minute weekly therapy sessions and am available to meet both in-person and online (via a secure video conferencing platform). I am currently in-network with Aetna but am out-of-network with all other insurance plans. My out-of-network fee is $250 per session at this time. If you plan to use out-of-network benefits, I recommend contacting your insurance company to inquire about your deductible and reimbursement rates, as many insurers will reimburse a sizable portion of the out-of-network fee once your deductible has been met. I provide a monthly superbill (itemized invoice) that you can submit to your insurer to request reimbursement.

Psychological Evaluations
Psychological evaluations are helpful under a number of circumstances. Among other benefits, they can provide information on cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses, characterize the nature of social or emotional difficulties, provide diagnostic clarity, help to find a path forward in a stalled treatment, and yield personally tailored recommendations for interventions, accommodations, and supports. I specialize in cognitive, psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic, and personality assessment. Regardless of the type of evaluation, and whatever your purpose for seeking one, my goals are to help you understand yourself or your loved one more fully and to offer you support and guidance in making use of the assessment results.

The time commitment for an evaluation depends on its nature and scope, but most require somewhere between 4-12 hours of face-to-face time between myself and the examinee. In addition, the evaluation process entails review of records, contact with collateral sources of information, scoring of test measures, data interpretation and integration, and report writing. Following the completion of the steps outlined above, I will provide you with a comprehensive written report detailing the findings of the evaluation and will offer a face-to-face feedback session to review these findings with you. The total fee for an evaluation varies based on such factors as the type of assessment and the length of the assessment battery, but the cost typically ranges from $5,000 to $7,500. I am currently out-of-network with all insurance companies for psychological evaluations. Before beginning the evaluation process, I will assist you in contacting your insurer to learn about your anticipated reimbursement for evaluation services.
